Kung Fu Guan Dao have a long history in China and many similar looking weapons across the world have developed completely independently. Credited to have been developed by the Famous Chinese general Guan Yu in the 3rd century. Now known in west by being “the warrior on the shelf in Chinese take away’s”. Some heavyweight kung fu Guan Dao exist, with the purpose for weight training and building strength drills. However, most Guan Dao these days are fairly lightweight, just like this one.
Kung Fu Guan Dao have a large blade on one end, made from flexible sprung steel, traditionally used for slashing and cutting. The other end has a spike which acts as a counterweight but also can be used for striking and stabbing. Between is a wooden staff which is about 5ft in length.
This weapon is all about maintaining momentum and the Chinese Kung Fu forms you see nearly all have this in them, with spins a twirls being the main focus of the pattern.
“This is not a small weapon, it’s a bit of a slog getting it around the place. The forms are great and have some fantastic moves to learn. Have fun with this.” Doug Swift – Enso Martial Arts Shop

Royal Mail 2nd Class signed - Pretty slow service but will get there eventually. We will try and post it the same day the order comes to us, but not always possible for us. More than likely we will post the next day or day after that. Only possible for small lightweight items, as heavy items are more expensive than UPS.
UPS Standard - Order before 12pm and we can pack and post the same day to be with you the next day. If you order after 12pm we can still pack it and have it ready but it is less likely to be collected the same day (still possible though, depends when the UPS man comes) and will arrive the day after that.
UPS Worldwide - For anywhere outside the UK, we can post the same day but delivery times are dependent on the destination. Approximate delivery times are as follows:
