Originating from a simple farming tool, the sickle, kama have been developed into to a martial arts weapon in their own right. Many of the Japanese Kubudo weapons were developed like this, as when villages were attacked people grabbed all they had and what they were used to using the most. Imagine taking on a farmer who has been using that kama for the last 20 years for up to 14 hours a day, his muscles, body movement will be perfectly set up for dealing powerful blows and perfect cutting techniques.
This is how many weapons came into existence and these Red Oak Kama are no exception. Designed for completely safe training and sparring practice and traditionally coming in pairs.
Many styles have no taken to training with these now including the XMA practitioners who use the most flashy of moves and high energy performances. The traditional Okinawan forms look very different but emphasis is on survival and dealing strikes and disarms.
This pair of red oak kama will serve you well and there is no reason why you’ll need to buy another pair.
“Your main trouble with these will be finding an instructor to teach you them. If you all ready have one, hold onto them tight If not you might have to get onto youtube and be prepared to do some driving to weekend seminars.” Doug Swift – Enso Martial Arts Shop

We have a few different options for posting your items at Enso Martial Arts Shop. Prices vary depending on the overall order, weight, size etc. The checkout page will automatically workout the possible options for you.
We can send your item(s) in the following ways:
Royal Mail 2nd Class signed - Pretty slow service but will get there eventually. We will try and post it the same day the order comes to us, but not always possible for us. More than likely we will post the next day or day after that. Only possible for small lightweight items, as heavy items are more expensive than UPS.
UPS Standard - Order before 12pm and we can pack and post the same day to be with you the next day. If you order after 12pm we can still pack it and have it ready but it is less likely to be collected the same day (still possible though, depends when the UPS man comes) and will arrive the day after that.
UPS Worldwide - For anywhere outside the UK, we can post the same day but delivery times are dependent on the destination. Approximate delivery times are as follows:
