'On the Back' of The Shotokan Karate Handbook

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Gursharan Sahota was born in 1960 in Kenya, East Africa, but has lived in Bedford, England since he was 12. He took up Karate at the age of of 14 under the instruction of Sense John van Weenen and was awarded Black Belt 1st Dan (Shodan) four years later.

Now a 6th Dan, Gursharan has competed in a multitude of Kata and Kumite events, many at national level. The most significant event in his career however was the visit he made to Japan in 1984 when he fulfilled a great ambition by training in a Japanese Dojo under the instruction of Sensei Hirokazu Kanazawa.

This experience proved to be a turning point for Gursharan and on his return to England he realised his visit had been the inspiration he needed to dedicate his future to teaching karate as a way of life.

Gursharan opened his first club in Luton/Dunstable in 1981, and this is now the Association's Hombu (Headquarters).

In 1993, having been a teacher of the art for many years, he then formed his own Association, the Traditional International Shotokan Karate Association (TISKA) and he now has a wide network of clubs throughout the United Kingdom and abroad.

Shipping The Shotokan Karate Handbook

We have a few different options for posting your items at Enso Martial Arts Shop. Prices vary depending on the overall order, weight, size etc. The checkout page will automatically workout the possible options for you.
We can send your item(s) in the following ways:
Courier Tracked - Order before 1pm, we can pack and post the same day to be with you the next working day, this is not a weekend service. It is fully tracked and we will send you the tracking number when we process your order.
Evri - In our experience an extremely slow service, we cannot guarantee it will arrive. It isn't an option on the website for good reason, so if you want this pitiful service and your parcel thrown into a random hedge near your house, if you're lucky, just to save about £2 then simply call us on 0117 942 5832 and we can process your order over the phone.
Fedex Worldwide - For anywhere outside the UK, we can post the same day but delivery times are dependent on the destination. Approximate delivery times are as follows:
  • Europe: 2-3 working days
  • USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand: 3-4 working days
  • All other destinations: 4-7 working days.
