Are you looking for that super traditional look and feel to your Gi? This is probably as close as you can get without traveling to Japan and finding a tailor to custom make one for you. Finally you can have a Gi you’ll love wearing and will constantly have jealous eyes from you training partners.
The style of cut came over with the Japanese when Karate first came to the West. Their Gi cut fitted them perfect but the arms and leg length was short for the westerners wearing those Gi's. Shortly after a European cut was created to match the 'correct fit'. However, since then people have liked the Japanese Cut Karate Gi as it gives a traditional 'old skool' feel to the Gi.
With this Japanese Cut Karate Gi you get none of this stiff cardboard heavyweight Gi nonsense, these Japanese Cut Karate Gi are made from a lovely soft 100% cotton canvas. It’s has all the features you’d expect from a top end Gi. a lovely roomy feel, a great snap with punches and kicks, quadruple stitched for strength and even seven rows of stitching in some places. The classic short arms and legs and the long body offer such a great look.
Perfect for Karate, especially as a winter Gi, but also used by Aikido practitioners. These Gi's are a 13oz canvas which is about twice the weight of our lightweight karate Gi of 7.5oz. Made from 100% cotton and a brushed cotton canvas so a super soft feel. These Gi's aren't preshrunk so expect some shrinkage especially if you hot wash them.
One of the best Karate Gi's on the market, don’t believe me, come to the shop and try one on, you’ll be amazed as me. You’ll be completely bemused at anyone spending £200+ on a Gi, it’s unnecessary after you’ve discovered these Japanese Cut Karate Gi
“Keep on a cool wash and perhaps invest in some white protecting washing powder to keep that lovely white colour. Grey Gi’s are never a good look.”

The Japanese Cut Karate Gi sizes are based on height of the person. For instance a 3/160 is based on someone of a average build who is 160cm in height. You will get a bit of shrinkage from the 100% cotton fabric mix but the sizes are quite generous so you don’t really account for that when choosing your size.
