The Horsetail Fly Whisk is a symbol of hierachy in Buddhism and Taosim throughout China and Japan. They suit these religious philosophies, as they can help move flies somewhere else without causing them harm. The Horsetail Fly Whisk can be foudn in Tai Chi mainly but also in Kung Fu but was popularised by Wudang Tai Chi. It is seem as a perfect representation of Yin and Yang with the hard handle and soft Horsehair tail. It has it's own unique techniques but also pulls a lot from other weapons such as broadsword, straight sword and whip.
This Tai Chi Horsetail Fly Whisk is not made from real horsehair but from synthetic fibres which reflects the price. It is a very usable whisk and has a rope wrapped handle with a loop on the end. It has two tassle up the length of the handle and a perfect entry level whisk for those starting out with this unique and rare weapon.
“There's not a lot of people outside of China that know this weapon, hopefully you can find an instructor to teach you”
