Judo Guide To Black Belt is designed to provide a grade by grade guide from White Belt up to Black Belt 3rd Dan
Judo Guide To Black Belt is designed to provide a grade by grade guide from White Belt up to Black Belt 3rd Dan, broadly in accordance with the general syllabus outlined by the British Judo Association.
Easy-to-follow instructions, combined with clearly explained lessons for each movement, make this book ideally suited to the needs of the beginner and more advanced students.
Illustrated with brilliant explanatory drawings, specially drawn by Fred Thompson, the techniques described are so planned to guide every enthusiast simply and surely each step of the way to becoming a highly efficient Judo exponent.
While much practical experience is, of course, necessary to equip the beginner with physical ability, the theoretical explanations provide the reader with a sound and lasting knowledge of the sport.
The author, A. P. Harrington, achieved the grade of Black Belt in 1949 at the age of 18 after 22 months training.
During his National Service the author served in the Royal Military Police as an unarmed combat instructor and subsequently as Judo teacher for two of the largest clubs in Great Britain. Now a Black Belt 2nd Dan of Kodokan, Tokyo, his Judo publications are also published in the United States, Italy and Spain
