The Blue Tai Chi Fan is a common sight in China these days and fans in general are a common sight across much of Asia, especially the closer you get to the Equator. China specifically, has had long period of dubious personal safety and as carrying weapons were banned people took to learning hwo to fight with every day items. You’ll see these throughout all of martial arts but in China, Chopsticks, benchs, sticks of all length, walking sticks and fans are some of the few. Even Nine section chain whips could be concealed into the sleeves of robes to be whipped out if needed.
This Blue Tai Chi Fan is one of the tougher fans you’ll find. It’s ribs are made entirely of metal with a tough nylon material attached to it. They also have a plastic piece added at either end rib to make the hand hold a better feel and grip. When closed it makes a hard baton like implement and open a perfect fan. They used to have concealed spikes at the end of each ribs, but that’s not very legal anymore or particularly useful for modern day practice. It also comes with a silk style satin case to hold it in.
The nylon material is decorated with a green Chinese dragon riding the clouds with some Chinese calligraphy. The fan is great for all Tai Chi practice but will also suit all styles of Chinese Kung Fu that use them.
“Those looking for a natural material for the fan will be sorely disappointed, they all come with a nylon / polyester covering. They have a bit of weight to them which is great for training, but many try the Bamboo fan if you want it to be really lightweight.”

We have a few different options for posting your items at Enso Martial Arts Shop. Prices vary depending on the overall order, weight, size etc. The checkout page will automatically workout the possible options for you.
We can send your item(s) in the following ways:
Royal Mail 2nd Class signed - Pretty slow service but will get there eventually. We will try and post it the same day the order comes to us, but not always possible for us. More than likely we will post the next day or day after that. Only possible for small lightweight items, as heavy items are more expensive than UPS.
UPS Standard - Order before 12pm and we can pack and post the same day to be with you the next day. If you order after 12pm we can still pack it and have it ready but it is less likely to be collected the same day (still possible though, depends when the UPS man comes) and will arrive the day after that.
UPS Worldwide - For anywhere outside the UK, we can post the same day but delivery times are dependent on the destination. Approximate delivery times are as follows:
