Sai actually originate from all over Asia including India and Indonesian mainly and are thought to have come to Okinawa and eventually over to Japan, and converted to Jitte for Police use, with the spread of Hinduism and Buddhism. The Sai Weapon is commonly mistakenly called Sai Daggers as they traditionally are never sharp. The Sai are used much more for striking, locking and blocks. Sai can be gripped in several different ways for different modes of attack and defence.
As well as the truncheon style spike the Sai have two right angled prongs coming out of the guard. These double up as a hand protective guard but also a weapon blockers and grabbers. The Sai also have a round solid pommel on the end which can also be used to strike. Weighing in at just under 1kg each, the Chrome Round Sai are a very solid heavy weapon.
These Chrome Round Sai are sold as a pair, which is the standard use for them, and have a perfect weight for training and feel. The handle is wrapped it a faux leather material and the shaft of the Chrome Round Sai is smooth and round all along the length. You should never need to buy another pair as these Chrome Round Sai are solidly built and tough. Enjoy your practice.
“Your main trouble with these will be finding an instructor to teach you them. If you all ready have one, hold onto them tight If not you might have to get onto youtube and be prepared to do some driving to weekend seminars.”

We have a few different options for posting your items at Enso Martial Arts Shop. Prices vary depending on the overall order, weight, size etc. The checkout page will automatically workout the possible options for you.
We can send your item(s) in the following ways:
Royal Mail 2nd Class signed - Pretty slow service but will get there eventually. We will try and post it the same day the order comes to us, but not always possible for us. More than likely we will post the next day or day after that. Only possible for small lightweight items, as heavy items are more expensive than UPS.
UPS Standard - Order before 12pm and we can pack and post the same day to be with you the next day. If you order after 12pm we can still pack it and have it ready but it is less likely to be collected the same day (still possible though, depends when the UPS man comes) and will arrive the day after that.
UPS Worldwide - For anywhere outside the UK, we can post the same day but delivery times are dependent on the destination. Approximate delivery times are as follows:
