Red Oak Shoto Description
A wooden version of the Japanese Wakizashi sword, this is quite a rare item even in the martial arts world. The red oak shoto is used very much like the bokken is used in replacement of the katana. As said there are not many styles that used these and even less that actually train regularly with them. Saying that Japanese sword practitioners like to dabble with them and get used to a bit of two sword practice and some closer distance training. They also are great for really young kids, who want to do some bokken work, but cannot find a bokken small enough for them. This is when the red oak bokken works perfectly for them.
Made from Red Oak, this is a super durable weapon and will last a long time. However, it is made form a natural material so too much abuse could cause it to break. Take it easy and look after your Red Oak Shoto. It Comes complete with a plastic tsuba or guard should you want it and made entirely from the hard wood red oak. Good reliable weapon and there is no need why you’ll ever need to buy another one.
Advice from the shop on your Red Oak Tanto
“There’s not a huge amount of variation on these across the market. Apart from the high high end of the price scale, this is pretty much it, so if you need one, you might as well buy this one as they’ll all be the same.”

We can send your item(s) in the following ways:
Courier Tracked- Order before 1pm, we can pack and post the same day to be with you the next working day, this is not a weekend service. It is fully tracked and we will send you the tracking number when we process your order.
Hermes- In our experience an extremely slow service, we cannot guarantee it will arrive. It isn't an option on the website for good reason, so if you want this pitiful service and your parcel thrown into a random hedge near your house, if you're lucky, just to save about £2 then simply call us on 0117 942 5832 and we can process your order over the phone.
UPS Worldwide - For anywhere outside the UK, we can post the same day but delivery times are dependent on the destination. Approximate delivery times are as follows:
Europe: 2-3 working days
USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand: 3-4 working days
