The Japanese Red Oak Bo Staff are used by so many of the Japanese martial arts, they’re solid, thick, very strong and the same thickness throughout it's length
These are the standard for many Japanese martial arts. These Japanese Red Oak Bo Staff are a lovely weapon and so versatile. Made from red oak wood and the same thickness throughout the length of the staff. They are a tough weapon and will take some impact for partner work and drills. However, be mindful that it is wood and isn't indestructible. Being a natural material, Wood can break so a real thumping could end up with a broken stick. Look after your staff and it will last you for years.
This Japanese Red Oak Bo Staff is one of the nicest available on the market, it is slightly thicker than most Bo Staffs out there being around 1 1/4 inch or 32mm in diameter. This gives it a super traditional feel and the extra thickness helps with gripping your bo staff. Made in the standard Bo Staff length of 6ft / 72 inches / 180cm. You can also buy the Bo Staff Case to store and carry it in.
Styles like Ninjutsu, Karate and even Kung Fu especially the Southern styles will love training with this Bo Staff. The weight gives you a great workout, especially when training spinning drills. The red oak bo staff is one of the most traditional and simplistic of Japanese weapons.

This is an excellent staff and has a wonderful feel when handling. It is weighted and balanced perfectly so is really easy and natural to train with. I did, however, find the staff I received to be slightly on the thin side where I would have preferred a bit more to hold. A small preference of mine I guess but it doesn’t detract from this being an absolutely brilliant staff.
Practiced with bo twice so far and it's excellent and I'm very pleased with it. It's a nice heft and weight to know that there will be no problem with partner work. Only tried the nun-chucks but with them being foam covered I'm not getting clouted on the back of the head as I do with my wooden ones.
This staff has an amazing feel. Beautifully balanced. Exceeded my expectations considerably. Well worth the price!
