Tai Chi Bang Stick Description

This Tai Chi Bang, as well as the Tai Chi Ruler we also sell, fall into a category of Tai chi training aids, they are not weapons but a tool to help your Tai Chi practice. Within Tai Chi, the Tai Chi Bang is seen as an external or Yang training tool. It works on the external joints, ligaments and muscles. By practicing twisting, joint locking movements to name a few, the Tai Chi Bang helps improve grip strength as well as flexibility. For these reason is has to have some weight to it, otherwise it doesn't help in the way it should.

In an ideal world the Tai Chi Bang Stick should be close to the length of your forearm and about 5cm thick. They are straight up the length of the shaft and have round ends allowing for a smooth movement through your hands and turning on the ends. This allows you to have fluid controlled movement without being restricted form the shape of the stick.

There are lots of different theories of what wood should be used for Tai Chi Bang Sticks, some say Black Walnut to help with the kidneys. Some say the famous Chinese Iron Wood. However, this wood is expensive if you can get it at all and finding a Tai Chi Bang made form these wood is almost impossible. At Enso Martial Arts, we have looked for years to find a supplier of Tai Chi Bang Sticks and the ones we could source are made from Beech wood, it is not the traditional wood but they are very solid, robust and perfect for most practitioners of Tai Chi.

Hermes - In our experience an extremely slow service, we cannot guarantee it will arrive. It isn't an option on the website for good reason, so if you want this pitiful service and your parcel thrown into a random hedge near your house, if you're lucky, just to save about £2 then simply call us on 0117 942 5832 and we can process your order over the phone.

UPS Worldwide - For anywhere outside the UK, we can post the same day but delivery times are dependent on the destination. Approximate delivery times are as follows:
