The rattan bo staff is so different from the standard Japanese bo staffs in that it has great flexibility. This Rattan Bo Staff without skin from a distance can look like the white oak Bo staff, but as soon as you pick it up you notice the difference. It is super lightweight and really bendy. It's even bit bendier than the Rattan Bo with skin. Perfect for someone looking for a lightweight staff to train with and a lovely feel to the stick. They are durable enough to cope with partner work and even some sparring, although any stick you smash like cray will eventually fail. Because of the flexibility you will be a bit of wobble in your hands but if you are okay with that the partner work works great.
Used in many styles but mainly Chinese Kung Fu and Tai Chi. In Tai Chi Stick people use them for Tai Chi forms and partner drills but also a lot for practicing Fa Jing. The Kung Fu practitioners will use these for form work as well as partner drills and sparring, but will love the flexibility from fast striking movements and speed you can get from it being so lightweight. They also work very well for people who usually train with Oak weapons but want some lighter, either for ease but also for people who want to be as fast as possible.
Made in the standard Bo Staff length of 6ft / 72 inches / 180cm. You can also buy the Bo Staff Case to store and carry it in. As great bo staff and one with many features that differ from standard varieties.

Light weight and sturdy, great to train with
Bought this lightweight Bo for solo training in my garden due to wrist injuries. It is a perfect weight and size with the added bonus flexibility. Having trained in FMA, it is longer than the traditional largo baston but would be ideal for arnis/escrima/kali practitioners
