The Tokaido Karate Gi Kata Master is a premium karate suit developed especially for Kata. Used for classes as well as competitions. A favorite karate GI with WKF competitors.
Tokaido was the first producer of karate uniforms in the world, that’s quite a claim, it also means they’ve had longer than anyone else to perfect their kit. All of Tokaido’s gear is designed and made by Karateka so all that experience is poured into the brand and equipment. They combined centuries old knowledge and the newest science and manufacturing to constantly improve the kit so it is the best it can be for the top Karateka around the world. It is expected then that Tokaido have the reputation for producing the best Karate Gi's in the world.
This Tokaido Karate Gi, the Kata Master is a high quality premium product developed specifically for Kata. The uniform is approved by the WKF and features very short sleeves and trousers and a long body or skirt, similar to a Japanese Cut Karate Gi. It improves punching and kicking, and has what Tokaido called "ultimate-Sound technology". This 'ultimate sound technology provides very impressive sound when the Tokaido Karate Gi wearer uses dynamic body movement. In essence it makes an amazing sound when the Karatka is punching or kicking.
It is WKF approved so can be worn in all competitions but has not brand logos on the chest or neck, it has become a favorite or the JKA and Shotokan karate styles, as well as WKF styles.It is made from 100% cotton which is a material that is getting rarer and rarer in Karate Gi's these days and the cotton is brushed on the inside to give a very comfortable feel on the skin. Due to the Tokaido special cut, the body tension is staged, therefore dynamic movements are visually supported, which is very useful in competitions.
In terms of build quality you won't find one in the world, the Tokaido Karate Gi Kata Master has multiple stitches and reinforced seams, the final seam on the skirt of the jacket is extra wide and heavy, this helps the skirt to hang down and keep the Karate Gi looking sharp. The Tokaido Karate Gi Kata Master also come with Trousers which have a traditional drawstring. One amazing feature that stands this gi above so many else is that it is pre-shrunk, therefore you won't get any shrinkage from this Karate Gi. It'll stay the same size after washing.

The Tokaido Karate Gi Kata Master sizes are based on height of the person. For instance a 3/160 is based on someone of a average build who is 160cm in height. You won't get any shrinkage from the 100% cotton fabric mix as it has been pre-shrunk.

I bought a tokaido gi from enso martial arts, I ended up getting the wrong size so I rang the shop to try to exchange it for a smaller size, they were very friendly and helpful and I had my new gi in a few days. Would highly recommend this store for all you martial arts needs.

Absolutely fantastic Gi. The quality of the Gi is second to none. After 33 years of training I feel like I have found the perfect Gi for me. I received excellent advice from the store staff and will definitely visit the store again.
I have practiced Karate for 15 years plus. Have been through a few Karate Gi’s some costing £90 some cost £50 this Gi was more expensive but is a different level. It feels much nicer when practicing, does not restrict and get in the way while stretching, kicking etc…
Having looked all around the internet and even on the Tokaido website, the best store I found had put the most effort in, explaining the Gi thoroughly was Enso martial arts. I had fantastic communication and paid for and got next day delivery.

This is a great kata Gi and I would highly recommend this uniform for anyone who like to compete in Kata.
This is actually an excellent Gi for Traditional practitioners such as myself. The explanation video on the site was especially helpful and answered all the questions that I had - the most important of which was confirmation that this Gi does not have lots of manufacturer badging all over it; I was looking for a Gi without badging so this really helped me a lot.
The Gi was shipped very quickly and arrived very quickly in excellent condition.
