Brass Nine Section Chain Whip Description

The brass nine section chain whip is one of those weapons that looks amazing but it’s hard to imagine how people would fight with them. Even so, the modern Wushu Kung Fu practitioners these days do some amazing feats as do the Shaolin Temple Monks. This is not an easy weapon to learn so take it easy at the beginning.  Historically, it is said that this was used in battle as well as a weapon for personal protection. The second it more plausible as it can easily be hidden within clothing and brought out when needed.

The Brass Nine section Chain whip called that because it has nine sections held together at each joint by three rings, one end has a dart and the other the grip. The grip has a material wrapping for extra grip. Everything else is made from brass.  The rings at end end have additional rings which helps makes a jangling sound. This is good for competition but also helps you here where the end is to help avoid hitting yourself. It is one of the more advanced kung fu weapons and not a lot of people get that far in their training to get onto it.

Enso Martial Arts sells these in a lightweight, mediumweight and heavyweight versions and now the very rare brass nine seciton chain whip. All have their own benefits, but in short lightweight for fast movements suited for styles like Wushu and Shaolin and mediumweight and  heavyweight for control suited for the more traditional kung fu styles. People do tie a lightweight cloth on the pointy end which makes a whistling sound to kept an idea of where it is. Have some fun with these. Once you feel comfortable with one try two.

Advice from the shop on your Brass Nine Section Chain Whip

“Speaking from personal experience, these hurt when you mess up, get lots of space around you and start of easy. Find a good instructor to teach you and practice, practice, practice. Try spinning it under you while bouncing on your bum, great fun.”

We can send your item(s) in the following ways:
Courier Tracked - Order before 1pm, we can pack and post the same day to be with you the next working day, this is not a weekend service. It is fully tracked and we will send you the tracking number when we process your order.
