Kan Dao Sword Description

The Kan Dao Sword is quite a distinctive weapon in Chinese Kung Fu, it's quite a short sword compared to the Chinese Broadsword and Straight swords. It has a thicker blade than most Chinese swords and has a longer handle. It's often has a different names including Da Dao, alloy chopper, executioner sword but, at Enso, we believe Kan Dao is the correct name for this weapon. You often see it being used in combination with a Shield which we also sell at Enso Martial Arts, but do see forms on it's own.

One of the less common weapons in Kung Fu but most long term practitioners of Shaolin and other similar styles will get onto this weapons and perform in demonstrations and competitions. 

This Kan dao sword is made from chromed sprung steel making it flexible.  When thrusted out it make a cracking sound, which is great in performances, but also tells you you have the strike hard enough. At the end of the handle grip is a loop with three rings in which rattle when being used. The loop has many theories surrounding it some of which are for looping and twisting swords, hanging it on a wall and hanging stuff of it.

Hermes - In our experience an extremely slow service, we cannot guarantee it will arrive. It isn’t insured or tracked. If you want this pitiful service and your parcel thrown into a random hedge near your house, if you're lucky, just to save about £2 the go for us. Good luck
